
This year has led to a lot of auto recalls. Perhaps the most high profile of automotive recalls so far this year was the notorious Toyota recall involving a defective accelerator pedal. An additional Toyota recall shows that at least the automaker is consistent. This recall isn’t as noticeable considering you will find less automobiles with issues. Only a few model years on two different cars offered by the automaker have the defect in question. However, as Toyota is trying to recuperate from the earlier recall and fallout, this will be a setback.
Another Toyota recall has hit
There have been a number of recalls from Toyota. A new Toyota recall is in full swing as new Toyota recalls are regular. The problem being addressed by this Toyota recall is with the engines in more than 1.3 million cars. The engine control module needs fixing. The defect can affect shifting or cause the engine to stall when driving and keep the motor from beginning, according to CNN. There are accidents from the problem. Of course, the accidents are few.
Fix more than 1 million cars
The models in question are the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Matrix. From 2005 to 2008 there are issues. The circuit board can crack within the Engine Control Module which is in the 1ZZ-FE engineThe 1ZZ-FE has engine has a severe problem. The circuit board can crack in the Engine Control Module, which isn’t good. The engine may have the shifting affected in it. Also, the engine might shut off when you drive. The engine may have difficulties starting. That is also common with this problem. The U.S. has 1.13 vehicles being affected by this. In Canada, the vehicles affected total only 200,000. the Los Angeles Times, the total is being brought up from this for cars recalled this year for Toyota. The total has now hit about 10 million. .
Toyota can’t do better after market share
Toyota, in the past few years, had captured market share of U.S. auto sales. The lead was tenuous at best, and this may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Many companies would like to take back their business. These consist of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler.
